Tennis Shoes Adventure Series
I read the first four books of this series when I was in elementary school and then never really kept up on the new books coming out through the years. But I LOVED them when I was in elementary school, and often reread them through the years. I went to the Provo library the other day and rented 6 of these books! It amazes me that I could love them so much when I was young, and still love them now. They are excellent books, and really help me understand what life was like for the Nephites and Lamanites. So good. Rent them or buy them. You won't regret it. ;)

My little brother had an obsession with these books when we were little. I've always wanted to read them. I have to read them again.
ReplyDeleteI loved them when I was little, too. And I definitely love most of them now, too, but there comes a point in every writer's life when they have to let their favorite series go. Tennis Shoes met their time with the Golden Crown. I might let him get away with the books up to the Tower of Babel, despite some serious flaws. The last couple books were just wretched though.

ReplyDeleteYeah, the first few books were fantastic, but now that I'm reading more of them (I'm currently on the Golden Crown) the story is starting to feel...forced. I think the second book was definitely my favorite. So I would advise others to read the first five and then end there. ;)
